The Sea Trout (Salmo trutta m. trutta) is a highly sought-after fish for anglers. It is related to the Atlantic Salmon and is native to the Atlantic Ocean, the North Sea, and the Baltic Sea. It spends most of its life in the sea, coming to freshwater to spawn. After spawning, adult Sea Trout go back to the sea, while their fry develop in rivers and eventually leave to the sea once they mature. Sea Trout consume invertebrates and other fish as their main source of food. Unfortunately, this species is at risk due to the destruction of its habitat and dams that disrupt river systems.
