Fishing Tiger Nuts
With a crunchy texture and wonderfully sweet flavour, tiger nuts are the number one particle bait for carp fishing. They will tempt specimens where other baits have failed and could be the foundation of your future success.
These tasty nuts are not actually nuts at all. Tiger nuts are small root vegetables with a rough texture. Cyperus esculentus is a member of the sedge family and produces these nuts which are a valued super food for humans as well as for carp.
At Fishing Boat World we are delighted to bring you standard size tiger nuts, mini tiger nuts and large tiger nuts. We also offer black tiger nuts which are even sweeter and have a higher oil content. These are the caviar of tiger nuts!
How to prepare tiger nuts for fishing?
Tiger nuts are extremely hard and so must be soaked for 24 hours and then boiled for 30 minutes. If you then leave them for 2 to 3 days they will begin to ferment and this appears to enhance their appeal to the fish. The sugar content of the nuts will turn the water milky. Hang on the water as this can be used as an effective attractant and can be frozen until you need it.
Tiger nuts are a great choice of you are being plagued by nuisance species when carp fishing. Only carp appreciate these fabulous nuts and so you can focus fully on your target catch.
